Jesus Pobre lies within the administrative boundaries of Denia, in the verdant valley to the South of Montgó. It is close to the towns of Denia, Pedreguer, Gata and Javea and yet is quiet and unspoilt. Jesus Pobre conserves the characteristics of a small village, with its friendliness and tranquility yet it is less than 10 kms from the beaches and the bustling life of Denia. The northern landscape is dominated by Montgo Mountain (a National Park). On its summit is a cross dedicated to Jesus Pobre. The southern aspect is of a quiet valley spreading towards the sea, with orange trees, almonds and olives. Farmhouses, often beautifully restored, dot the landscape.
