Set against the stunning backdrop of Mount Teide, on the north east coast of Tenerife, Las Caletillas is a quiet, mostly residential area without the commercialism of the more lively resorts. Las Caletillas has a pebble beach and just 3km away is the picturesque village of Candelaria with its own small volcanic beach. Las Caletillas is set approximately 14 kms from the capital of the island Santa Cruz and approximately 65km from Playa de las Americas. There are a few local stores selling mainly Spanish brands. British newspapers are available and the resort has a bank, chemist and many souvenir shops. There are also a few cash machines around resort. There is no nightlife as such in Las Caletillas but there are a few bars serving drinks and tapas. There are a handful of restaurants around the resort, mainly specialising in Canarian cuisine and international meals.
