Melford Hall is a romantic turreted brick Tudor mansion near the green in the unspoilt village of Long Melford. The Hyde-Parker family have lived in the house since 1786, Queen Elizabeth I was entertained here in 1578. The house has a traditional garden with fine trees and clipped box hedges. Seasonal interest in the garden includes daffodils in the spring, herbaceous borders in the summer and autumn colour. There is a display of items connected with Beatrix Potter who was related to the family and visited often. General Information: Walk in the historic park, Adapted WC at gatehouse.
