A Must Stay B&b
This is a beautiful building, decorated with good taste. The bedroom was very comfortable with a memory foam topper on the bed. The en suite shower room was of a high standard with clean white towels. I would have liked a larger bath sheet but that is my choice. The hosts were helpful & charming. The individually cooked breakfast was delicious and the whole stay experience was second to none. I would certainly stay there again.

What It Said On The Tin
Rooms were clean, owners friendly. Breakfast was good and varied if required. Location was perfect for most activities ,trips etc.

My only gripe was being charged for a working dog without being informed on arrival. I believe this is actually against the law but as I was in a hurry to get on the road I hadn't examined the bill until later so didn't question it.

Response from Hotel
Dear Mr Staford

Thank you for your review and comments and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and we enjoyed meeting you.

I would like to respond to your comment re the charge for your dog. Firstly the cost for this is displayed on our own website, but your reservation was made through an online booking agent, it is mentioned that we accept dogs on that site and it says that it is chargeable.

Reservations made through these sites are chargeable in full due to their high commission charges which we have to pay being 15% = £36.75 for all a guests requirements. We always ask and actively encourage guests to book through our own site or by telephone as the rates are cheaper by booking direct, and we would have look more favourably re the charge for your dog.

Lovely room, immaculate presentation and cleanliness. Hosts very welcoming and helpful. Big breakfast options .

Beautiful accommodation and we stayed in the best suite. Massive bedroom with tea & coffee facilities, television, lots of drawers, cupboards and large wardrobe with toweled dressing gowns. Perfect shower facilities etc.. Over-looking the British Legion bowling green, very quiet area and only a 5 minute walk to main shopping area. Lots of choices at breakfast and lots of it!!

Our say at selling Ellingham House was very comfortable. The house was decorated with thought and taste. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and the breakfast was delicious. Plenty of parking on the street.

Cons - the stairs up to our room on the top floor!

- bath towels a little on the small side

Stunning House
After a warm and friendly greeting we were shown to our beautiful comfortable room. Ian and Chris were the most attentive and perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. Breakfast was most enjoyable and a choice was available. The Dinning room is elegant and homely with a true home from home feel. The bed was most comfortable and our 2 night stay left us feeling refreshed and a great start to the new year. We would love to stay again.

A Lovely B&b
We stayed 5 nights and found this to be a wonderful B&B. The house itself is beautiful and the hosts are very helpful, knowledgeable, and are just very nice to chat with. We had a spacious room with a modern bathroom. There was plenty to eat for breakfast and they were well catered and delicious, the only downside being that we had to skip it one morning!

Simple Wonderful
Any establishment that claims to be 5 star offering excellent service standards should give you what it claims and Ellingham house does just that. It is superb in every way , cleanliness, fixtures and fittings and decor. The breakfast offering is lovely, well cooked and prompt service. It is a little bit more expensive than most others but not much and I think the extra cost is worth it. I am not sure if they cater for children as we only saw adults there when we stayed but I think it really is more for adults than young families. Would I stay there again yes most definitely, and no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, so if your in or going to Conway this is the place to stay.

5 Star All The Way
We have just returned from a one night stay hare and I have to say it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in for a while. The rooms were very spacious, spotlessly clean and the bathrooms were large and had all that was required. The breakfast in the morning was superb and set us up nicely for the day ahead. The Hosts (Chris and Ian) were very welcoming and should be very proud of all their hard work as they have created a beautiful hotel that I for one will be looking to return to in the not so distant future. Thank you for making our weekend extra special xx

A Most Enjoyable Stay
A fine stay in a lovely house, very comfortable rooms, fine decor, a warm welcome and an excellent breakfast.

The only gripe and only a very minor one at that it would be nice to be able to check in a little earlier than 2.30 pm

Although I arrived early on the day as the room was ready was able to check in one hour early which is no more than I would expect from such excelllent hosts.

We were visiting North Wales for a wedding anniversary party and found this accommodation to be perfect for our needs! Very spacious, quiet and comfortable, we were totally relaxed. At the heart of Medieval Conwy stands Plas Mawr, the "Great Hall", built between 1576 and 1585 for the Welsh merchant, Robert Wynn. This richly decorated building is an architectural gem, possibly the best preserved Elizabethan townhouse in Great Britain. This "worthy plentiful house" is especially noted for the quality and quantity of its ornamental plasterwork, now fully restored to its original splendour. Plas Mawr's authentic period atmosphere is further enhanced by furnishings, many original to the house, based on an inventory of the contents in 1665.The interior with its elaborately decorated plaster ceilings and fine wooden screens, reflects the wealth and influence of the Tudor gentry in Wales.
