Review Southsea Lodge
Room very nicely decorated and comfortable. Breakfast very good. Family welcoming and friendly. Only negative was ensuite very small, no bath, and toilet noisy. I would stay there again. Parking charge £2 which was acceptable, but would have been better as a complimentary.

Good Location
The b&b was really clean and tidy, if a little worn and dated. The hosts were pleasant but not obtrusive. The mattress could have been more comfortable. A basic, clean and pleasant stay. A little investment into making it more comfortable to sleep would be beneficial in my opinion.

Southsea Lodge
Very welcoming and comfortable. It's pleasing to see the entrance path and dining room nicely restored in keeping with the period of the house. It feels very much a family-run house and they take good care of their guests. An excellent breakfast with free-range eggs. The room was quiet and peaceful, and yet the house is within a short walking distance of restaurants and bars in Southsea.

Three Nights In Southsea Lodge
I stayed three nights in Southsea Lodge in spring 2015. I was in Portsmouth for a conference, and Southsea Lodge was situated very well: about 20 min walk from the University. My room was clean and cosy, with with furniture and decorations. I loved my room! The house was quiet (as travelling for work, I really needed my sleep) and comfortable. Shower in my room was also very clean, and there was enough warm water. There was tea facilities in the room, which was nice. The only minus was, that the room was quite warm to my taste. However, I should have asked how to balance the thermostat, I'm sure the owners would have helped. They served tasty breakfasts with enough choices (maybe a little wider selection of fruits would have been nice, though).

All in all, Southsea Lodge was one of the best B&Bs I've visited in the UK, and if coming to Portsmouth again, I most certainly consider staying in Southsea Lodge again.l

Southsea Lodge
I stayed at the Southsea Lodge for two nights in a double room. The owners, Martin and Mina, were superb. They made me feel very welcome and on my arrival Martin explained everything which I needed to know, which was brilliant. The room was very clean and spacious, with great decor and touches. It had an ensuite shower room, free wi-fi, TV and hot drink facilities. The location was perfect, as it only took 10 minutes to walk from Fratton station, 15 minutes to the Southsea coast, and 30 minutes to Portsmouth harbour. There are some nice restaurants and attractions nearby. The breakfast was delicious and the service provided was top class. I will stay here again on my next visit, that is for sure!

Simpsons In Southsea
I would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in Southsea. The room was lovely and the breakfast very, very nice. Hospitality is first rate and I wished they did evening meals as the wonderful aroma from the kitchen was tantalizing! Even parking (always seems somewhat a problem in Portsmouth)was okay as you just ask for a temporary permit to put in your car.
