Fantastic Guest House
We had a wonderful 2 day break at the Rosemount the room was very clean and the breakfast was exceptional, Andrew and Louise are great hosts who cannot do enough for you they take care of every detail even on a day when it rained they gave us a pass to use the spa at the hotel down the road, anyone looking for a break in Bowness must go to the Rosemount we will be back next year that\'s for sure.

Enjoyable Stay
We really enjoyed our stay at Rosemount. The room was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and wasn\'t littered with endless cushions that you end up scattering on the floor. The dining room was very well laid out and breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding!
We stayed at Rosemount to celebrate my husbands young 70th birthday,wow...from a lovely greeting from Andrew to a beautiful airy large four poster room. Beautifully clean. Whilst staying we acknowledged how well Andrew and his wife Louise made sure all their guests were happy and catered for. They recommended lovely eating establishments, and just thoughtful in every way possible. Breakfast was fabulous and served by a attentive lady that your every need was catered for. Thank you for making our first visit to the lakes such a wonderful & memorable one. Would we stop again at Rosemount? yes we would, and highly recommend it.

Wonderful B&b,would Highly Recommend It!
This was a very clean, quaint, and comfortable B&B and the owners make you feel so welcome. The breakfast was bountiful, cooked to order and served to you by cheerful ladies in a bright airy breakfast room overlooking Lake Street. Would highly recommend staying here and we certainly would if we returned to this beautiful area.

Pre Wedding Time Out
This is certainly a gem of a B&B, located with perfect access to the Lake, shops and restaurants, but for me it was the fact this little old house turned into luxury the minute one entered the door, stylish, well furnished and spotless. Planning a return visit very soon.

The Perfect Stay For A Repose Lakeside
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The B&B is cosy, pretty and incredibly well located perfectly between Windermere and Bowess (both in easily walkable distance). Yet what made the stay special were Louise and Andrew. Their warmth and hospitality is genuine and infectious, they are full of great tips and help to make the most out of the trip and the breakfast was fantastic. What a find!

Stott Park Bobbin Mill - Newby Bridge - Museum

Stott Park Bobbin Mill - Newby Bridge - Museum

Distance 6.4 miles (10.23 km)
A working mill built in 1835, Stott Park created the wooden bobbins vital to the spinning and weaving industries of Lancashire. Typical of mills across Cumbria, today you can see industry from a bygone age and watch as bobbins are made using the mill's original machinery. Although Stott Park worked continuously until 1971, it remains almost identical to its Victorian appearance of 100 years ago. With its Victorian machinery originally powered by a waterwheel and steam engine, Stott Park used birch, ash and sycamore to make wooden tool handles as well as bobbins. The mass of belts which fill the building still drive the cutting, boring and finishing machines than turn long thin poles into bobbins. You can watch a bobbin being made, and take it home as a souvenir.
