Excellent Location And Value For Money
Lovely location with a 2 minute walk to the beach or pleasure beach. Room itself is pretty basic but given the lowprice no complaints. Only negative is there's no Aircon which is much needed in this heat

Excellent Hotel
Helpful, friendly, welcoming owners. Lovely staff. Family suite was perfect; clean, well maintained and thoughtfully furnished. Free wifi, lots of plug socketa for charging. Hotel is situated opposite south pier, so it was a 20 minute stroll along the beach to the tower and shops, and a 20 minute stroll back along the lights and past the bustling arcades. Far enough away from the mayhem for an undisturbed night's sleep, but close enough for little legs. SPAR opposite for comvenience. Breakfast was great. Will be visiting again.

Excellent Place To Stay
We stayed at the hawkes hotel for 2 nights and I can’t fault a thing. Very welcoming on arrival and a very friendly atmosphere. The rooms were spotless with clean bedding and towels and tea, coffee and milk for a cuppa. The breakfast was £3 for an adult and £2 for a child and I can’t recommend having this enough. You will not get a better breakfast anywhere. I will definitely be back to this hotel.

At first we was abit undecisive by looking just at the building because it wasn't as big and luxury as the others. But as soon As we got in the door it felt like home. So welcoming, vey clean and breakfast was lovely too. The room had everything you needed in it, and it was very quite. I would have loved to stay for more than one night there. Thankyou so much for looking after us.

Linda

I Highly Recommend This Hotel.
The Hawkes Hotel Blackpool is a fantastic hotel to stay in.

The outside of the hotel is clean & tidy.

On entering the hotel it was clean & tidy. There is a resident/guest bar with a small stage for entertainment.

I had a small double en-suit room.

The lay out of the room is good & rge decor in my room & troughoit the hotel is great. My room was very clean like the bathroom which the shower was not tiled just straight white panels which to me is hygienic.

The dining room were breakfast is served is a good size & well laid out so guest & staff move round easily.

Again hygiene is graet in this room as the tables have glass tops.

There is a good choice for breakfast from fresh juice, cealel, tea, coffee & full English breakfast. The full English breakfast is great & plenty of items including toast.

This hotel caters for vegetarians.

If you are travelling as a solo, couple or as a family I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff are pleasant and helpful.

I paid £48 which is value for money.

This is my 5 star highly recommended hotel in Blackpool.

Travelled For Lytham Festival
We travelled for the LythamFestival and where pleasantly surprised. Could not fault Hawkes hotel at all especially for the price. It had everything we needed, was comfortable and most importantly clean. Breakfast the following morning was a choice of cereals, toast and a full English, tea or coffee and very delicious and set us up for the day. Best of all was the lovely welcome we received from everyone at Hawkes hotel, we didn't feel like we where staying at a hotel but felt more like staying with family. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we would not hesitate in returning to Hawkes if we ever stay in Blackpool again. Thank you everyone at Hawkes :)

Fantastic Stay - Couldn\'t Ask For Better
Stayed here this weekend for one night and the couple who own it couldn't do enough for us. There were 6 adults and my twin babies and 9 year old. They moved us to a bigger room, set up a cot for us, were friendly and hospitable and the room was clean and tidy and the entire place was extremely amenable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation, beautiful breakfast too, though missed my usual mushrooms and fried bread!!!

Excellent Value - Great Hotel
This was my 3rd stay at the Hawkes, and once again, I left very happy after 2 great nights staying there. My early arrival (9-30am) was no problem, and they happily looked after my bags whilst I spent the day in the Pleasure Beach. The Hawkes is brilliantly located on the South Shore opp the South Pier, and about a 3 minute walk from the Pleasure Beach. The South Pier tram stop is 1 minute walk away, allowing easy access to the town centre/tower etc. The Hawkes is a clean hotel and the welcome you receive is friendly but not intrusive. Breakfast has self service cereal and fruit juice, plus a lovely full English cooked for you. The rooms are comfortable with an ensuite and are more than adequate for a trip to Blackpool where you'll spend more time outside than in your room. If you're really lucky, you can pop over to the seafront in the evening and see a stunning sunset too. I'll definitely be returning to the Hawkes again.

Kids Enjoyed Their Stay!!
We stayed as a family of 4 (kids age 6 and 1) ..We were welcomed by really friendly staff, our room had a double bed, single bed and a cot, and was still left with walking space, ensuite was clean and spacious. The full English breakfast was enjoyed by us all ... Definitely would recommend to family and friends..thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

Met at the door by the owner with a big smile. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was very clean with plenty of space and storage. The breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of food and drinks on offer. The location of the hotel was second to none, directly across from south pier and a 2 minute walk to the pleasure beach. We will certainly be back in the future.

Very Welcoming But Room Wasn't Great
Stayed here for 1 night, June 14. The owner and her daughter were very welcoming and kindly gave us advise about where best to eat. The family ensuite room was ok. After watching Channel 4's 'four in a bed' my children went round the room inspecting. The kettle didn't work and there was other people's food wrappers and tissues under the table, but the beds were clean and comfy. Random spoons were in the bathroom sink but all lamps/tv etc all worked fine. There wasn't any fresh fruit available at breakfast time but they very kindly made us all delicious bacon sandwiches to go in the morning as we were in a rush.

Lovely Nights Stay
Had a lovely stay. Welcomed upon arrival, and advised where to park. There were 5 of us, so we had the family room on the top floor. The room is split into two, one for the kids and one for the parents. Nice beds and a lovely breakfast in the morning.

Would stay again

Excellent Stay
We had a fabulous stay. The children could sleep in their own separate room connected to ours and we could sit having a cuppa in our room whilst watching all of Blackpool go by. The room was very clean as was the dining room and the breakfast was spot on. The proprietors were very friendly and exceedingly helpful in finding us somewhere to park.We had a lovely view from our room of the South Pier and the sea yet it wasn't noisy.Smashing place, definitely recommend it.

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Distance 1.42 miles (2.27 km)
Blackpool Tower opened on 14th May 1894, with the aquarium existing as a stand a lone attraction from the late 1870's. The tower is 518ft 9inches tall, with the walk of faith at 380ft from street level. The Tower alone contains 2,493 tons of steel and 93 tons of cast iron. The building at the base contains 985 tons of steel and 259 tons of cast iron.
The Tower has a viewing platform at 380ft above the promenade and is reached by a lift or if you are a maintanance worker by 536 steps!
Not for the feint hearted is the 'Walk of Faith' glass floor, a two inch clear panel that looks straight down to the Promenade below.
The 'Walk of Faith' glass floor panel was placed at the Tower top in 1998. The glass floor weighs half a tonne and is made up of two sheets of laminated glass. The 'Walk of Faith' can withstand the weight equivalent to five baby elephants.
To reach the top viewing platform at approximately 450ft you can walk up 2 flights of stairs.
The present Ballroom was designed by Frank Matcham and opened in 1899. The Ballroom floor measures 120ft by 102ft. It comprises 30,602 separate blocks of mahogany, oak and walnut. The first Wurlitzer organ was installed in the Ballroom in 1929. It was replaced in 1935 with one to Reginald Dixon's specification. The first organ went to the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens.
During the day visit the Ballroom to hear one of the famous organs being played. The Tower Ballroom is the traditional home of the mighty Wurlitzer Organ which rises up through the stage and complemented by the 3 Deck Wersi - the world's most advanced Blackpool Tower Ballroom - The Wurlitzer Organorgan, it includes over 600 sounds in the software, is touch screen sensitive and can create the sound of a complete orchestra.
The Tower Circus is positioned at the base of the tower, between its four legs. The circus first opened to the public on 14 May 1894 and has not missed a season since.

The present interior was designed by Frank Matcham and was completed in 1900.

The circus ring can be lowered into a pool of water and holds 42,000 gallons at a depth of up to 4 ft 6 inches, which allows for Grand Finales with Dancing Fountains. The Tower Circus is one of four left in the world that can do this.
During more than a century of entertainment, the world's greatest circus stars have paraded across its ring. The clown Charlie Cairoli appeared at the tower for 39 years. Britain's best-known ringmaster Norman Barrett worked the ring for 25 years.
Animals appeared in the circus until 1990.
It was planned to close the famous circus at the end of the 1990 season and replace it with an animatronic attraction. Public opinion and the fact the animatronics were not ready meant that the circus continued.
Today, the circus is produced and directed by Hungarian Laci Endresz. A live band (sometimes accompanied by Mooky the Clown) provides all the music for the show, often dynamically syncing with the performers' movements. The circus band play a variety of different songs, usually Latin for the acts. In the winter the circus stages a pantomime instead of the regular show.
The oldest part of the building is the aquarium which was part of Dr Cockers' Menagarie and Aquarium in the 1870s.[1] It was kept open to earn revenue while the tower building went up around it. The aquarium was modelled on the limestone caverns in Derbyshire. It houses 57 different species of fresh water and salt water fish and the largest tank holds 32,000 litres of salt water.[28]
The aquarium closed permanently at the end of the 2010 season and will be completely remodelled to make way for a new "Dungeons" attraction.[29] This is part of the investment by the Merlin Group, who took over the operation of the Tower at the end of the 2010 season on behalf of new owners Blackpool Council
