Lutterworth Golf Club - Lutterworth - Golf

Lutterworth Golf Club - Lutterworth - Golf

Distance 0.79 miles (1.26 km)
While not particularly long, the course is a good test of golf and there are a number of holes worthy of a special mention. The 4th par 3 with the river Swift on the left and requires an accurate tee shot as bailing out to the right leaves a very tricky shot to the narrow green. The long yard 8th par 4 requires a long straight drive to give any chance of going for the green in two. The 14th par 4 is a slight dogleg left and is protected by strategic bunkers and trees. Two good shots are needed to reach the narrow elevated green in regulation. The 15th par 3 looks easy it is guarded by a tree on the left, a small pond and a new pot bunker a par is always good here.

Stanford Hall - Historical Houses

Stanford Hall - Historical Houses

Distance 3.17 miles (5.08 km)
Stanford, where Shakespeare's Avon flows gently through the Park, has been the home of the Cave family, ancestors of the present owner Mr Nicholas Fothergill since 1430. In the 1690s, Sir Roger Cave commissioned the Smiths of Warwick to pull down the old Manor House and build the present Hall, which is a superb example of their work and of the William and Mary period. The lofty Ballroom, grandly resplendent in pink and gold, has a fine coved ceiling with four trompe l'oeil shell corners. The mellow panelled Library is lined with over five thousand books, as well as many interesting manuscripts, the oldest dating from 1150. The peaceful Drawing Rooms with their lovely portraits and elegant furniture overlook the park.
