The Dyke Golf Club - Brighton - Golf

The Dyke Golf Club - Brighton - Golf

Distance 5.86 miles (9.37 km)
At an elevation approaching 250 metres, the views are spectacular in all directions, especially on a clear day when the southern horizon out to sea is some 50km distant bringing the busy shipping lanes into view. The main attraction of the golf course is the layout with its contrast of long hard-hitting holes on the western side and the holes of a more adventurous type on the eastern side among which are three first class short holes. At most of the longer holes the fairways tend to draw slightly to one side or the other, adding to the difficulties and requiring additional accuracy on a windy day.

Paxhill Park Golf Club is hidden away in 'Bluebell Railway' country and surrounded by sites of outstanding natural beauty, bordered on its southerly side by the Sussex Ouse. Hard-to-locate but close to Haywards Heath, it is an exquisitely photogenic downside course, originally designed by Patrick Tallack in 1989. He crafted the course to both test and reward skilled golfers yet still enable the enthusiastic amateur to enjoy a good game. It presents well - drained fairways and greens and excellent year-round playing conditions maintained by quality staff. Every single member and visitor is important to us at Paxhill and we intend to provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which good Golf can be enjoyed at all levels.

Brighton Football Club - Football Club

Brighton Football Club - Football Club

Distance 6.75 miles (10.81 km)
The initial impression of the stadium is of its picturesque surroundings, set into a hillside and mostly surrounded by woodland. One end is unused for spectators, further giving the stadium a rural look. This end is completely open, whilst the other has a couple of small temporary stands erected at either side of it, which are uncovered and hence open to the elements. The pitch is surrounded by an athletics running track, hence the supporters are set back from the field . Although this type of multi-purpose stadium is popular on the Continent, this is the only current example in the Football League.
